Discover the Difference of Covenant Academy!

From 1^st grade through high school graduation, no one will spend more time molding a child’s life than a teacher.  While Proverbs 22:6 gives parents a Biblical mandate to “train up a child in the way he should go” it is equally important that an educator partners with parents in fulfilling that task.  Teaching children is a privilege; making a difference is a responsibility!  Covenant Academy is the “difference” for which Christian families across Middle Georgia have been searching!

Please allow me the opportunity of sharing with you what really makes Covenant Academy “different” from any other local private academy.  The “difference” begins with our mission, which is to train for mastery and servant leadership in the knowledge of God.  In addition, CA’s “difference” is reflected in our “distinction.”  Covenant is a Christian School that encourages academic excellence by offering a classical education from a Biblical perspective.  Finally, Covenant Academy partners with parents who are theologically like-minded, giving our faculty a Biblical foundation upon which to build.   

Covenant Academy began in 1987, by a group of five home school families who desired a distinctly Christian education.  As Covenant embarks on our Twentieth Anniversary, we continue to strive to be an extension of home and family values that glorify and honor our Lord Jesus Christ.  Overarching the life of Covenant Academy has been a reliance on the grace of God, prayers, support of His people, and a forthright commitment to provide a classical curriculum squarely rooted in the Word of God.

As Covenant enters its 20^th year, God continues to pour out His blessings upon this special ministry.  From construction and renovations to the addition of students and faculty, the vision for CA continues to unfold!  Significant accomplishments have occurred within our Covenant family and on the CA campus over the past year, and I would like to share several with you at this time.

• God has blessed Covenant with a new 20,500 sq. foot middle/upper school building.  The new upper school building houses a Life and Physical science lab, computer room, art room, weight/fitness room, lunchroom, administrative offices and eight additional classrooms.
• Over 100 new students enrolled for 2007/08 bringing CA’s enrollment to over 400 students in grades K4 – 10 (over a 30% increase).
• 22 new members were added to CA’s faculty / staff.
• Additional land adjacent to the campus was acquired, paving the way for additional expansion.
• Multiple grades have expanded, giving CA three sections of K4, K5, 1st and 2nd grade and a 2nd section in the 5th, 6th and 8th grades.
• New construction spaciously provided two new K5 classrooms and two new 1st grade classrooms.
  

Covenant added the 10^th grade for 2007/08, and CA is currently accepting applications through the 11^th grade for 2008/09.  The addition of a high school has provided CA the opportunity to be a part of the Georgia Independent School Association and to participate in interscholastic extra-curricular activities with our middle and upper schools.  Through this affiliation our students have the opportunity to participate and compete throughout the year in music, art, drama, debate, one-act plays and other literary activities. 

Our athletic department is fielding competitive teams in baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, football, golf and track.  Additional sports will be added as our enrollment continues to increase.  For additional information concerning CA athletics, please contact our Athletic Director, Mr. Todd Whetsel by phone or email at twhetsel@covenantacademy.net.

As Covenant continues to expand, the Board has chosen the slogan “Forward by Faith” to keep the vision for excellence alive!  Dan Reeves, former Atlanta Falcons’ head coach, was the guest speaker at the Forward by Faith reception in which CA’s master plan was unveiled.  Hosted on the campus of Ingleside Baptist Church, Covenant families were challenged to move forward by faith!

In Hebrews 11:6, the Apostle Paul states:  “But without faith it is impossible to please Him:  for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”  As Covenant Academy continues to go “forward by faith” we are committed to remaining steadfast in our mission to provide a distinctively, classical Christian education.
