Letter From the Headmaster
Discover the Difference of Covenant Academy!
From 1st grade through high school graduation, no one will spend more time molding a child’s life than a teacher. While Proverbs 22:6 gives parents a Biblical mandate to “train up a child in the way he should go” it is equally important that an educator partners with parents in this training process. Teaching children is a privilege; making a difference is a responsibility! Covenant Academy is the “difference” for which Christian families across Middle Georgia have been searching!
Please allow me the opportunity of sharing with you what really makes Covenant Academy “different” from any other local private academy. The “difference” begins with our mission, which is to train for mastery and servant leadership in the knowledge of God. In addition, CA’s “difference” is reflected in our “distinction.” Covenant is a Christian School that encourages academic excellence by offering a classical education from a Biblical perspective. Finally, Covenant Academy partners with parents who are theologically like-minded, giving our faculty a Biblical foundation upon which to build.
Covenant Academy was birthed in 1987, by a group of five home school families who desired a distinctly Christian education. Twenty-one years later, Covenant continues to be an extension of home and family values that glorify and honor our Lord Jesus Christ. Overarching the life of Covenant Academy has been a complete dependence upon the Lord for direction and provision, as well as an unwavering commitment to provide a classical curriculum firmly rooted in the Word of God.
With the addition of the 12th grade this fall, CA’s classrooms will be filled with over 400 students in grades PK – 12. Entering its 22nd year, Covenant continues to experience God’s provisions and favor! “With great opportunity comes great responsibility”, so we cherish your prayers for the task ahead.
Covenant will experience many “firsts” this school year with the continued expansion of the Rhetoric school (9th -12th) and the addition of the 12th grade. AP and Honor’s classes will be added to a growing curriculum. In addition to the 12th grade, a 2nd section has been added in the Logic school (7th & 8th). To God be the glory, great things He “continues” to do at Covenant!
Recognizing the preeminence of Christ, Covenant Academy teaches students to think, learn, and live from a Biblical worldview by elevating God and His Word as the primary source of knowledge and truth. To accomplish this goal, each faculty member is a committed Christian, and he / she is dedicated to academic excellence with a passion to Biblically “train up a child in the way the he should go.” Over the years God has blessed Covenant with an outstanding, seasoned faculty to Biblically lead and shepherd our students.
As our high school opportunities expand, Covenant will continue to fully participate on the varsity level in music, art, drama, one-act plays and a host of other literary activities. On the athletic field, the Rams are thrilled to have added varsity football, baseball, cheerleading, girls cross country as well as boy’s and girl’s basketball. The Rams will compete in Region 4A against other GISA schools of similar size.
As Covenant continues to expand, the Board has chosen the slogan “Forward by Faith” to keep the vision for excellence alive! Covenant families were challenged to move forward by faith!
In Hebrews 11:6, the Apostle Paul states: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” As Covenant Academy continues to go “forward by faith” we are committed to remaining steadfast in our mission to provide a distinctively, classical Christian education.
After exploring our website, I invite you to visit our campus! Covenant is located on thirty-five beautiful acres on Ayers Road, just off of Tucker Road in Macon, Georgia. Thank you for prayerfully considering Covenant as a future partner to Biblically “train your child(ren) in the way the he / she should go (Proverbs 22:6).”
