2008 Golf Results

Golf – State Tournament

Our Golf team competed in the State Golf Tournament in Vidalia, Georgia. Covenant placed 3rd out of 16 teams missing 1st by only 8 strokes.  Chase Reeves shot 75;  Josh O’Quinn finished  right behind him with a 76; Jim Henderson shot 81, and Jared Foxworth shot 86.  The team score of 318 was our best of the year.   Chase and Josh were named to the All-State team  becoming Covenant’s first All-State golfers.

Region

Congratulations to our Golf Team for placing 2nd in Region! Oak Mountain claimed the Region title with a  team score of 315, while the Rams team score was 330. Chase Reeves shot a 74 and Josh O’Quinn shot a 77 to lead the Rams. Both Chase and Josh made the All-Region Team.  The golf team advances to the State golf match which takes place Monday, April 28th, in Vidalia, Ga.

4/14/08

CONGRATULATIONS to the CA Golf Team for bringing home the 1st place trophy from the Mount de Sales/Tattnall Invitational Tournament.  The team shot  a very respectable 328 to lead all 10 teams.  Josh O'Quinn had a remarkable 73 to win the Medalist trophy leading all scorers for the day.  Jim Henderson and Chase Reeves added big to our win, both shooting an 80 for the day.  Way to go team! 

4/7/08

The Covenant Golf team had enjoyed a cold, cloudy day of golf at the Stratford Invitational.  Coming off of Spring Break, we did not have our best day.  They placed 8th out of 12 teams.  Congratulations to Chase Reeves for shooting 78! 

3/17/08

The Covenant Academy Golf Team also traveled to Dublin, Georgia, to play with 14 other teams in the Trinity Invitational Golf Tournament. Congratulations to Josh O’Quinn who placed 8th out of 75 golfers firing a round of 76.

3/13/08

The Golf Team played in the FPD Invitational at Healy Point. Chase Reeves finished 3rd out of 40 golfers by shooting a 77.

3/3/08

Covenant Academy’s Golf Team played their first match at Cabin Creek against Monroe Academy and Strong Rock. They came in 2nd place missing first by only 4 strokes. Jim Henderson shot 77 and placed second individually on the day.
