Georgia Promise Scholarship
What is Georgia Promise Scholarship?
- A State-funded program created by Senate Bill 233 (signed into law 2024) that provides families with up to $6,500 per student to help pay for approved educational expenses.
- Approved uses: Private school tuition and fees; tutoring; transportation; other program-approved educational costs.
Eligibility
- Residency: Student must live in the attendance zone of a state-designated low-performing public school.
- Prior attendance: Student must have attended a Georgia public school for the full school year immediately before applying (kindergarten applicants are eligible regardless of prior program).
- Income priority: Priority given to households earning under 400% of the federal poverty level.

Expenses Not Covered
- Tuition amounts exceeding the $6,500 scholarship
- $200 application fee; $100 technology fee (Grades 6–12)
- School uniforms, lunch program, before- and after-school care
Field trips / mission trips, annual yearbook, athletic fees - Any other costs not approved by the Georgia Promise program
