What is the House System?

Each Spring term, rising 9th graders are inducted into one of four distinctive houses in which they will remain through their senior year. House of Carey, House of Mueller, House of Taylor, and House of Livingstone comprise our house groups. The heartbeat of each House lies in its student leaders (Head Girl, Head Boy) who are carefully selected. The Head Girl and Boy, with supervision and guidance of Houseparents (faculty advisors), develop leadership skills while mentoring fellow house members.

The House leaders guide fellow members through pivotal events and competitions throughout the year. These events serve as more than just opportunities for friendly competition; they are platforms for students to collaborate, integrate ideas creatively, refine their rhetorical skills, and develop leadership capabilities. Students actively participate in shaping the school's culture and community.

Beyond the tangible successes, the Covenant Academy House System instills invaluable lessons in engagement, demonstrating how students can positively influence the people and culture around them. It's more than a classical tradition—it's a dynamic, hands-on experience where students learn, grow, and contribute to a community that extends beyond the classroom.
